My list for new books to read (December 2020) is fairly short. Since December is usually a busy month, my reading goals for this month are light.

I only have one ARC on my tbr this month – Possession by Katie Lowe. It is scheduled to be released in January, but I’m hoping to check it off my list this month. The other new books to read are by authors I like and/or from the Goodreads Choice Awards. While looking through the nominees, I noticed there were quite a few books that sounded good, but I haven’t read yet. I figured December was a good time to check some of them off my reading list.

Since it is the end of the year, I’m working on reading goals for 2021. This month, I hope to update my “want to read” shelf on Goodreads, pick a couple of reading challenges, and start making a plan for reading in 2021. I’m thinking about doing monthly themed TBRs, but I’m not sure how well I would stick to something like that. However, it’s something I want to try, so I plan start the year with themed reading.

New Books to Read – December 2020

Possession by Katie Lowe

A new psychological thriller scheduled to be published January 26, 2021. I received a digital copy of this book to review from the publisher. Possession sounds intriguing, and I can’t wait to read it.

The Boy from the Woods by Harlan Coben

The newest mystery by Harlan Coben. The Boy from the Woods was nominated for the Goodreads Choice Awards in the Best Mystery & Thriller category. I’ve enjoyed other books by Coben, so I figured this was a good one for my reading list.

The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton

Another book nominated for Best Mystery & Thriller in the Goodreads Choice Awards. I wasn’t a big fan of Turton’s The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, but I thought I’d give The Devil and the Dark Water a chance because it sounded interesting.

Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline

The second book in the Ready Player One series. Admittedly, Ready Player One was not a book that needed a sequel, but I’m still going to read it. The first one was a fun book, so I’m looking forward to this one.

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren

A new romance set during Christmas. This sounded like a good book to read in December. I’m looking forward to this one because I have enjoyed other books by this writing duo, including Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating, My Favorite Half-Night Stand, Love and Other Words, and The Unhoneymooners.

The Flatshare & The Switch by Beth O’Leary

I know! Two more romances on my reading list. Unusual, but these both sounded cute, so I borrowed them from my local library. Both books were nominated for Best Romance in the Goodreads Choice Awards – The Flatshare was nominated last year and The Switch is nominated this year.

I hope you read some great books this month. Happy Reading!
