Naughty or Nice Book Tag

Naughty or Nice Book Tag

I’ve seen this tag popping up on some of the blogs I follow, and thought it looked like a fun one. Thank you Siobhan at Siobhan’s Novelties for tagging me! Perfect timing. I was wanting to do a Christmas themed book tag.

Received an ARC and not reviewed it
Nice. I have been late with reviews, but I got them done.

Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley
Nice. Currently sitting at 91% feedback ratio.

Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)
Nice. I have a Goodreads shelf for books read but not reviewed. I’ve made more of an effort this year to keep up-to-date with reviews, and having the specific shelf helps tremendously. I just click over to it and catch up on reviews every so often.

Folded down the page of a book
Nice. Once upon a time I was on the naughty list for this, but broke the habit years ago.

Accidentally spilled on a book
Nice. I can’t remember spilling anything, though it seems likely that I would have.

DNF a book this year
Nice. I have a personal goal to finish what I start, so I don’t DNF books.

Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it
Naughty. I own multiple copies of some books. I’ll read one copy, but the others are just for looks. I also buy copies of books I have already read and liked, but don’t necessarily plan to read again.

Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else
Naughty. Reading is a great way to procrastinate.

Skim read a book
Naughty. See above about DNFing, so I skim parts that don’t keep me interested.

Completely missed your Goodreads goal
Nice. I met, and exceeded, my goal this year.

Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library
Nice. I always return the book. I was on hold for a book recently that didn’t get returned, and the library had to order another copy. I’m currently on hold for another one that looks like it’s not going to be returned. It’s so frustrating.

Broke a book buying ban
Naughty. I occasionally decide to stop buying books while I catch up on reading what I already have… but then I come across a book I’ve been looking for or see a good book sale. All my good intentions go out the window.

Started a review, left it for ages, then forgot what the book was about
Naughty. I’m going through this right now. I read a book that’s out next month. Started the review last month, but haven’t finished it. I don’t even write in depth reviews, so I don’t know what my problem is.

Wrote in a book you were reading
Naughty. I don’t do this often, but occasionally I make some notes.

Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads
Nice. I recently made sure my Goodreads list matched my personal spreadsheet, so it’s all good. Yes, I keep a spreadsheet of books read each year. It’s really detailed. Hello, my name is Darinda and I’m a book nerd.

Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend
Nice. I think I’m nice on that. Let me know if I still have a book you loaned me.

Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book
Naughty. I know some people that would not be returning books, so they don’t get to borrow anything. Well, unless I don’t care if they keep it.

Broke the spine of someone else’s book
Nice. I feel bad when I break the spine on my own book, so I’m more careful with other people’s books.

Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged
Nice. I don’t usually take off the jacket, so not a problem.

Sat on a book accidentally
Naughty. My son likes to move books around. With fair frequency I sit on a book that I didn’t know had been left on the sofa.

Nice: 12, Naughty: 8
Yeah! I’m on the Nice List. This means Santa’s leaving a pile of bookish gifts under the tree, right? Is that how this works?

I’m not tagging anyone, but do it. Yes, you! It’s a fun book tag. If you decide to do it, link back to me so I can see your answers.
