Top Ten Tuesday: Backlist Books I Want to Read

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is Backlist Books I Want to Read.

It’s no surprise that I like to shop books, but I have a bad habit of buying books and never reading them. I tend to give ARCs and library books priority in my reading list, so books I own get shelved and never picked up again. I’ve started to improve a little bit in this area, and hope to focus on reading more of what I already have next year. Below are ten books that I heard great things about, bought the book, and never read it. Hopefully, I get to these books in the next year.

I Let You Go by Clare MackintoshThe Book Thief by Markus ZusakThe Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott FitzgeraldThe Secret History by Donna TarttNever Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
Quiet by Susan CainShatter Me by Tahereh MafiThe Eyre Affair by Jasper FfordeBehind Closed Doors by B. A. ParisThe Hating Game by Sally Thorne

  1. Great titles! I have Behind Closed Doors and The Hating Game on my list too! Fingers crossed we can both check these off our lists soon ;-). I read I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh and I really enjoyed it, I think I have her next one on my list as well 😉

  2. These look like great books! I’ve wanted to read Quiet and should see if my library has it. I also read I Let You Go. Mackintosh’s writing style really appeals to me. I think I’ve now read all of her books. I hope you enjoy all of them!

  3. Very interesting list, Darinda. I do not recognize many of these titles, so I will have to check out, I enjoyed Behind Closed Doors. I hope you actually get time to read the ones you have posted and enjoy them as much as you have anticipated.

    1. Thanks, Carla! I want to read all of these before the end of the year, but I doubt that happens. I should be able to read them in the next few months though. 😊

    1. I know! It’s at the top of my list. I have almost started this one so many times, but always put it back and pick something else. What is wrong with me? 😂
